The band decide to make a music video, but when Tomika and Freddy have different ideas about the video's creative direction, it causes a rift in the group.

The band decide to make a music video, but when Tomika and Freddy have different ideas about the video's creative direction, it causes a rift in the group. The rest of the group tries to convince them to join back by acting like they were going to do the video without Freddy and Tomika and after making up, they join the group for their first music video.

  • The title of this episode is a reference to the song, True Colors, by Cyndi Lauper.
  • Clark now knows the identity of School of Rock, however he fails to prove it to Principal Mullins.
  • This is the first episode in Season 3 where Tomika argues with one of her friends. In this case, she argues with Freddy.
  • This is the first episode where Principal Mullins appears in more than one scene in the third season.
  • The title refers to when the band are shooting the music video and they splash paint all over each other and the place.
  • The song at the end of the episode, "We Run This Show", somehow managed to get the word "hell" in it's lyrics past Nickelodeon's censors.
